Bromley brush aside Gillingham to extend unbeaten run and close on top seven

Bromley extended their unbeaten league run to 12 games with a comfortable 3-0 win over Gillingham at Priestfield.

Louis Dennis and Jude Arthurs struck in the first half to put Bromley in control and Kamarl Grant wrapped up the points with 14 minutes left before Gills substitute Elliott Nevitt missed a late penalty to cap a miserable night for the hosts.

Bromley are now 11th in League Two, three points off the play-off places.

Dennis put the in-form visitors ahead after just seven minutes when he pounced on a save from Glenn Morris, who had done well to deny an initial effort from Arthurs.

The former Leyton Orient forward was the first to react, slotting home from a few yards out.

The Ravens doubled their advantage after 26 minutes when a high ball into the box was not cleared by the Gills defence, and Arthurs got the final touch, hooking a shot into the top corner beyond the reach of Morris.

Mark Bonner’s side, now four games without a win, made three changes at the break in an attempt to rescue a result, and Josh Andrews came close to pulling a goal back, however his header was well saved by Grant Smith.

Bromley sealed the win in the 76th minute when Grant latched onto Corey Whitely’s low cross from the right, applying a tidy finish from six yards.

Gills won a late penalty, but Nevitt blasted the spot-kick over the bar.
