B&Q Ireland has issued an urgent product recall after an electric blanket sold across Ireland was found to pose a serious safety risk.
The recall affects the GoodHome Saturnia Electric Blanket, which was on sale in Ireland between November 2024 and December 2025.
According to the official Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) safety alert, the product “poses a risk of fire or electric shock”, with warnings that “an electrical component may overheat leading to a risk of fire”.

The alert also warns that the blanket “may cause the heat controller housing to deform and melt which can expose live parts to the user”.
Around 31 products are believed to be affected in the Republic of Ireland, and customers are being urged to act without delay.
The CCPC warning states: “If you have this product, please stop using it immediately, unplug from the mains, and return to your nearest B&Q store for a full refund.”
The recalled product is identified as:
Brand: GoodHome
Product: Saturnia Electric Blanket
Barcode: 5059340980560

B&Q has provided a dedicated helpline for concerned customers, advising anyone with questions to contact 1800 946 327, available Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
With electric blankets commonly used overnight and during colder weather, Irish shoppers are being urged to check their homes and act quickly if they believe they may own the affected product.
