'A great character who will be sadly missed by all' - Tributes pour in following death of popular fire prevention officer

Dublin Fire Brigade have paid tribute to their late colleague, Executive Fire Prevention Officer Paul Grimson following his passing last Wednesday October 23, 2024.

The social media post by Dublin Fire Brigade was flooded with messages of condolences including from former colleagues of Paul's at Dublin Airport Fire and Rescue Service who commented: "We send our sincere condolences to Paul and his family at this tragic time."

Another social media user wrote: "Oh no poor Paul I'm so sorry for his family. He was an absolute gentleman. He went through so much and never once complained."

A former colleague from Dublin airport commented: "Worked with Paul in the Airport very nice lad. My condolences to his family rest in peace Paul".

Other tributes posted to rip.ie included one which said: "We are truly sorry to hear the news of Pauls passing. One of our boys was very lucky to have Pauls as his coach in Rugby.

He was a true gentleman man and a wonderful person. May his gentle soul rest in peace. You are all in our thoughts."

Another wrote: "My deepest condolences on the passing of Paul. I worked with Paul in DFB a few years back and have great memories of that time, where Paul always had a smile on his face. A great character who will be sadly missed by all."
